Plagiarism Detection Policy
The Revista CIE maintains a strict editorial policy against any form of plagiarism or content duplication. All submitted manuscripts undergo similarity checking using iThenticate (Turnitin) software before entering the peer-review process.
Definition of Plagiarism Plagiarism is understood as the total or partial reproduction of ideas, data, texts, images, figures, or any other material without proper citation and corresponding authorization. This includes self-plagiarism (substantial reuse of the author’s own previous work without citing the original source).
Detection Procedure
- All submitted articles are screened for similarity using iThenticate.
- A maximum acceptable similarity threshold is established (generally below 20-25%, excluding citations and bibliography).
- If significant similarities are detected, the manuscript will be returned to the authors for correction or rejected, depending on the severity of the case.
- Serious cases of plagiarism will be reported to the authors’ affiliated institutions and may result in permanent editorial sanctions.
