Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence

The use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools in the development of any section of the manuscript must be disclosed in the text, specifically in the materials and methods section. The software used must be detailed, along with the manner, extent, and scope of its application.

Authors are responsible for verifying the accuracy and reliability of the information generated by AI, as well as ensuring the absence of bias. Additionally, they must provide appropriate credit for the intellectual authorship of the knowledge generated, referencing the sources consulted by the AI.

The following actions related to the use of AI in manuscripts are prohibited:

  • Attributing authorship or co-authorship to work performed by AI.
  • Designing or altering images included in the document using AI.
